Olivier – Senior Consultant – 28 years old

consultancy and IT Services firm mostly working on Oracle, I am well versed in the
Software Development environment. I have worked on an ERP that is extensively used
by Sugar Estates companies both in Mauritius and in Mozambique. I also have a year
experience working on client side in Europe on a Peoplesoft ERP project for a large
European client.
Why Spoon Consulting ?
Spoon offers a lot of perspective in terms of career. Being a company on the build
up, it promises the possibility of attaining posts of higher responsibilities. It
is also a challenge where each contribution made is important for the future of
both my career and the company.
Which conclusion so far
The team spirit and the motivation that animates the small team that we are is refreshing
and a complete change from an impersonal organization. I hope that in the future
the spirit and motivation remains so that we can build a solid team for success.
Vimal Doolhur – Senior Consultant – 26 years old
My Background
I am an IT consultant with an MSc in Project Management and a Honors Bachelor degree in
Computer Science with Multimedia from the University of Mauritius. I have four years of
working experience with international clients in offshore or on site mode, acquiring
experience in implementing full life cycle CMM level 5 projects right from requirements
gathering till post implementation phase.
Why Spoon Consulting ?
There are a number of key reasons that I decided to join Spoon Consulting:
The open approach, and the enthusiasm and ambition of the company and its people
attracted me right from the start. The opportunity to be part of an organization
that is growing and has strong ongoing growth ambitions is extremely attractive.
Despite being a young offshore company, I was surprised to see that the processes
in place in the company is very close to that in place in big MNCs. The reason for
this is because Spoon Consulting works mainly with Industry Leaders to implement
solutions for their clients. The main integrators we work with are IBM, Accenture and CSC.
Thus, some of the projects we work for are subject to CMM audit for CMM certification.
Also, I believe that at spoon consulting most of the empowerment is in the hands of the employees.
They value your experience and give you responsibility on your very first project. The focus is
on your personal development, so you soon learn how to deal with that responsibility.
Fourthly, what attracted me was the fact that you’re not appointed to a particular position,
but for a career, because we are a growing company. As an organization we are beginning to
mature into one that understands the need to leverage both industry specific expertise and
functional skills. Spoon Consulting has an individual development plan for each of its employees
and do not hesitate to invest on training to make sure their consultants have the right skills and knowledge.
I would also add that the culture at Spoon Consulting Ltd is one of inclusiveness. In my time within
the business I am also able to confirm that there are strong elements of a meritocracy culture. I
believe in the transparency with which Spoon Consulting conducts itself and the values it instills
in its employees and therefore in the way we work. They always treated me like a equal and never did
the superior/subordinate relation came in.
The best thing about my work is the freedom I have to put forward my own initiatives and the fact that
people have confidence in me. This allows me to get involved in different activities and exposes me to
all kinds of subjects. To top it all off, I have wonderful colleagues and am forever learning new things.
Which conclusion so far
Spoon Consulting is a place for all the people with the zeal to achieve new heights. The work place environment is challenging.
